Experience of deploying web applications (via IIS or Websphere)
Experience in Active Directory and knowledge of configuring applications to use Single-sign-on-authentication

Be involved in the implementation and early support phases of the following projects: Replacement of a Clinical Trials Management System, Replacement of a Regulatory Information System, Implementation of an HR System, Upgrade of a Clinical Trials labelling system (and any additional projects as required)
Follow a structured process for implementation
Ensure software applications and solutions are optimised for the environment in which they will be used as well application and network configuration, database interactivity ect.
Maximise the use of existing IT applications, assets and technologies
Take an active part in the vendor selection process for software applications
Provide 3rd line support for live systems
Selecting and implementing IT applications and solutions that conform to the current infrastructure
Ensure solutions are tested appropriately in a test environment before going live
Take responsibility for any tasks allocated to you, defining and agreeing realistic timescales
Ensure status and issues are communicated to the project team
Deliver good quality documentation and comply with the departments ITIL procedures (including Change and Version control)
Follow GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) where appropriate

Broad knowledge and experience of VMware vSphere infrastructure

Manage and co-ordinate day to day use of external contract resources for service and maintenance of computer technology in International offices.
Keeps computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organisational needs.
Responsible for monitoring work of I.T. Support team.
Joint administrative responsibility for all assigned personnel. Supervise team members on a day-to-day basis; evaluate performance; provide on-going coaching and counselling; jointly responsible for conducting performance appraisals alongside Associate Director I.T. Provide input to policy level direction including standards and procedures, when necessary.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems required (XP & 7)
Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite required (2003 to 2010)
Thorough knowledge of DMS required. Experience with OpenText or Autonomy platforms advantageous.
Strong knowledge of Citrix XenApp as used for application delivery internally / remotely desirable.
Knowledge of Cisco VoIP phone systems desirable.
Knowledge of legal specific applications such as Carpe Diem and Elite desirable.
